My two babies, that I found on August 22 and are now approx. 8-9 weeks old, are doing well and I have found a rehabber in my area that has agreed to take these babies from me soon so that they can be released. I can't release them in my own yard since I have 5 cats that look through the windows (they are outside, babies are inside) and lick their lips like I am fattening up a couple of entrees for them. I am attempting to wean these two and they are eating solids well on their own (cheerios, apples, bananas, acorns in the shell, peanuts roasted unsalted in the shell, walnuts, etc. My question is if there is anything more I should be doing to prepare them for release and at what age they can be released. I live in North Florida. Any help would be appreciated!!!!
