mating?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if gray squirrels and black squirrels mate with each other?

The black squirrels are actually grey squirrels but they seem to stick to their own kind normally.

I was just wondering. if there the same exact same why are the blacks only in Canada?

They are not quite exclusively in Canada, although they certainly are much more prevalent there than they seem to be anywhere else. We have had one black squirrel in our area for a couple of years, and this year there is another one. They are not quite as shiny-jet-black as their gorgeous Canadian cousins -- more charcoal with a tinge of brownish, but still are clearly black, not grey.

Usually when I go up to Michigan there are black squirrels everywhere.

Ohh i see well maybe one day they will make there way down here to Florida! i would love to see one i never have
