Looks to be about 5 weeks old. How much does he weigh? He's really chowing down on his food. Is that a black squirrel?

He's black yes,but has a few tips with grey :D Yeah,I'm giving him.her plenty of formula and water. How much formula should I be giving him..I'm feeding it every 4 hours. do I need to mix the formula with some water? I have been giving it half/half right now.

The liquid is already premixed and doesn't need added water. Powdered needs to be mixed with water like Gamma stated.

With you giving him formula he is getting all the water he needs from that...he doesn't need water in between unless there other problems and a rehabber or vet has advised you to.

If you are using the liquid esbilac, remember that it goes bad in just 72 hours from the time you open the can. You can freeze it in an ice cube tray and just melt what you need for the feeding and it stays good longer, but in the fridge, it is only good for 72 hours.

Your squirrel looks to me to be about 7 weeks old. Do you have any way to get a weight on him?

Every 4 hours seems like a good feeding schedule :thumbsup . At his age you can skip the night feeding.

I left him (found out it is infact a he) in his cage for about 20 minutes after the feeding and when he saw the syringe he started to whine for it. Am I allowed to feed him more a few minutes after if he really is hungry?

I would let him have as much as he wanted, up to 10 ccs. Anything over that, I would say no, he is full. Squirrels are prone to overeat, so you have to be careful. If he does take 10 ccs per feeding, you will want to cut him back to just 3-4 feedings a day.

Are you giving him any regular food (fruits or veggies?)?
