OK, so i'm 'considering'...just 'considering' keeping Shug, (who was it that said I should never have given him a name???) my little blind squirrel. A kind member of this board as agreed to raise him, but I want to make sure I've covered all my options--including keeping him.
Could you post me pix of your 'best' 'most favorite' cage? He'll have to have a pretty big one to take care of growth and to give him more room to play.
Thanks so much.
(if this post is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it, I wasn't exactly sure where to put it so all would see.) In fact would't it be an idea to start a whole section on Cages, so everyone could post their ideas? Thanks in advance.

Look online at Nations ferret cages. They have one that I have been considering. It's a fairly large cage and has two levels. I have a squirrel that doesn't use his back legs but he can climb and pull himself with his front legs really well. There is a ramp that goes between the two levels. I saw one today in the pet store where I buy supplies and it is real sturdy and handy to clean with a huge swinging front door.

Roy's cage is 2' tall but is deep and long in case he falls. The Nation cage is #142. Each level should not be over 2 feet tall. It has a hole in the top level with a ramp down to the lower level. I would not want a blind squirrel in a wide open cage either. Everything would pretty much have to stay the same all of the time so she would not get confused.

This is the cage I use for my sugar gliders and I think it would be great for a blind squirrel to live in... the cage has enough room in for him to move about, but not to much room for him to get hurt in.

Here are two pics of the same cage I have set up for my gliders.
