I looked at the clacium list of foods and tomatoes are not on it... are squirrels not supposed to eat them????

Others have given tomatoes to their squirrels, and it is probably OK for a treat. SOMEwhere there is a very adorable picture --- small squirrel, very large tomato --- looks like s/he was holding a beachball :) Very happy squirrel :crazy (but I rather suspect that, after the photo shoot, the squirrel took the usual two bites and then was done :D )
Due to the skin, it would probably be best not to give one to a younger squirrel, unless perhaps if it is peeled like with grapes.

I've always offered Sadie tomatoes. She loves them, but much prefers fresh garden tomatoes to the store bought kind (as do I!). They're something I know I've seen squirrels locally eat, so I wouldn't assume they're harmful. :dono
