I have a baby that is about 4-5 wks old. His eyes are not open, but seem to be ready to open anyday. I have had him since he was a tiny pinkie. I found a lot of sights and help to get him to where we are today, but what comes next. How long do I stimulate him, how much longer until he does not require a heat source or during the night feedings. How will I know when he is ready to be released and where I should release him. I keep him in a soft dog crate with a towel over the crate; when should I start to move him to a wired cage and what goes in it? Who will teach him how to build a nest and cross the street and run from danger??? How do you guys do this over and over. I am having a melt down :crazy :) I think sleep will help. Please any advice on what to do or expect in the coming weeks would be great.

FYI - My boss named him Rocky and Tropical Storm Fay is the storm that brought him to me.

Just wondering how his eye is doing, and if you could possibly post a pic of the infection...I didn't see any response on the last thread, so I thought I'd try here.

I am sorry but I did not take a picture of his eye when it was infected. It was swollen, red and puss was coming out of the connor of his eye. I applied warm cotton balls and I prayed! In just 24 hrs it clear up. It came on fast and cleared up fast. Funny thing is that eye opened the day after it cleared up. His other eye has not yet opened.
