Hi All,

I have been feeding the many squirrels, chipmunks and deer who come onto my property for quite some time. BUT i have a question as to HOW MUCH food I should be giving the squirrels...for example the same adult squirrel will come visit me several times a day...I usually give him a couple of peanuts and walnuts but I dont know if I am "overfeeding" him...

So what is considered a good snack or meal for wild squirrels? Obviously they are eating in the wild so my walnuts are not his only form of food....and I dont mind when they come by my house for a snack...but how much is too much?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hello There:) and :Welcome Your yard sounds nice wish I had deer in my yard. But I do have the squirrels and chippys we enjoy to feed all the time. I go through two big coffee cans of sunflower seeds everyday at times even more and lots of unsalted peanuts and few walnuts for a treat and also to train them to take nut from my hand. Hope to see pics soon of your yard buddies:D They sure can be a joy. Bless you for feeding them great to hear:thumbsup
