We have a baby squirrel. Her name is Fidget and she is about 5 1/2 weeks old. We have had her for 3 weeks and everthing is going great so far. I was told that I needed to get the Zupreem Primate Monkey Biscuit to start giving her to chew on. No one here had any so a lady gave me a bag of Kaytee Parrot Biscuits she said they were the same thing. I have tried giving her one and she does not like it. So do I just wait a little longer to give it to her or will she just take to it evenually? Also are they the same thing? I don't want to harm her cause she is doing so great. Also when do we start offering her water to drink? She is still on just formula right now so what would be our next step? Thanks:)

Welcome Jonmom:Welcome
I don't know about the parrot food but the monkey chow isn't as good for squirrels as rodent chow. You can find that at most pet stores.
But most squirrels don't like them:D
A Squirrel board member developed a very nutritious "squirrel Block" and the recepe is here:

Here is more diet info:

Grammas Baby also has a recepe for squirrel blocks that is very good but I don't have it handy.
I know the first block says for adult squirrels but I think that is more for amounts. But maybe some will help more about that.
good luck:)

Hi jonmom, good to have you with us. :wave123 I merged your two threads into one as the additional thread was unnecessary.
