Okay, so about a week ago, I saved a baby squirrel from being the victim of my cats outside. I've been feeding her Pet Ag Esbilac. She doesn't always eat, though. Sometimes its like shes starving, and sometimes she hides her face like shes not hungry. My in laws :soapbox keep telling me to let her back outside and she'll be fine, but shes so little, and I can't do it. Her name is Daphne (my daughter named her), and I'm not sure if she's eating enough. I don't have a scale to weigh her, but I read on another website that they should eat 1cc of formula for each week old they are. I'm thinking she's around 5 or 6 weeks old, but she's not even eating that much... PLEASE HELP!!!

:Welcome
She is too young to be let go right now.
YES, 1 CC per wk of age.
Are you using a syringe? And feed her slowly, you do not want her to aspirate. Hold her upside down if she does.
Others will be on shortly to help you along also.
Stimulate her to help her pee and poop.Good luck with her.

Did any of your cats get a hold of her? I am wandering if she got bit by one of the cats or punctured with a claw. If so she will need to be treated with a antibiotics....ASAP! If it is illegal to have a squirrel in your state I would suggest letting us help you find a rehabber to hand her over to so she can get the antibiotics she needs to save her life.

She may have injured herself from the fall also and have internal injuries.

Did you ever aspirate her with the formula, meaning did she ever have any come out of her nose? If so she may be suffering from aspiration pneumonia and needs antibotics ASAP or she will die from it.

She has no visible injuries, and she's very active, so I don't think shes sick at all. I live in Raleigh NC and it is illegal to have a squirrel here. If anyone caould find me a rehabber to bring her to, that would be great!!

Ok me and Daphne are home safe and sound. She ate like a champ after I got her settled down. She is a sweetheart of a squirrel. Tray29 has done a fantastic job with her. She is very active and looks good. I will have pics of her up later after she has a nap and is alittle more settled in. I have 8 other babies here, so she will have lots of new friends to met later. I'll start her a thread in the nursey so everybody can see her.
Thanks again Tray29 for saving this sweet baby!!!
