Sharp Claws

Just one quick question about the sharpness of claws. Can anyone give me any info on if it is safe for me to cut his claws and/or how going about but doing it. He keeps cutting his lip on the side. So, I was wondering if I could do something about it to help.

Also, is it safe for their teeth to be cut as well. mjs
