We found a baby squirrel by a tree in the back yard one day. He was about 6 feet away from three other babies that had already passed away and he was on his way there as well. We took him in. He was about 3 to 4 weeks at the time from what I had read. I kept him on a warming pad and started hydrating him with some fruit flavord pedialyte. After hydration, I then started him on 2 parts water, one part KMR (that's all I had at the time) and 1/2 part heavy whipping cream. He's been doing great. He is about 6 to 7 weeks now. we started weining with second step KMR and cream and introducing shelled and non shelled unsalted peanuts, pumpkin seeds, walnut meats and raisins. Everything seemed to have been going well until today. He was all active and squirrly as usual this morning. I started making his milk mixture and he got into the can and started eating the milk powder. I pulled him away from it and started giving him the mixture I had just made. He gulped most of it down very eagerly but then all of a sudden he just stopped and didn't want anymore, that's fine but the problem is he started acting VERY lethargic and started to breath very rapidly!! He then would start to fall over and looked extremely sick. I've been watching him closely now for a couple of hours, He's sitting up now and moving around slightly but is still brathing strange and still seems a bit lethargic. Any advice please?!!!:dono

He really should be taking Esbilac, its the best for squirrels. Also rodent block he will need to keep eating untill he is fully released.
He may have inhaled some of the formula, by accident. He should be ok, see how he is by tonight? The breathing part is the scary part.
Also did he have anything scare him, they will act in a similar manner if they are alarmed about something?
Also no peanuts or raisins my Preston almost choked to death on a raisin.
Give dark green veggies, squash, sugar snap peas, the pumpkin seeds are fine unsalted.
But his main staple should be Esbilac and rodent block, (forget KMR and the 2nd step he's still a baby and needs nutrition)its kind of late for rodent block to be introduced but I have a recipie they he will probably eat.
Also keep in mind once he no longer takes formula he is going to need to be out in the sun in a safe cage daily for sun exposure.

** Do you have any antibiotics from another pet handy in case he needs them?
I see you are near Hershey, if it came to it I could probably meet you half way with some meds.
