We found a baby 4 days ago. She is eating and using the bathroom like she should. She weighs 60 grams and doesnt have her eyes open yet. The problem is she has a blister like bump below her ribs. I cant see it when she is relaxed but when she moves this little bump sticks out. I havent been able to find anything like this. Any advice would be great.

It could be an abcess or a bot fly larva. Is it open, red, or ulcerated looking?
Is it hard or squishy?

it doesnt really look like a bite, its not red and its soft and doesnt seem to bother her
Any chance you could post a picture?

thanks for the link, I'm still working on a pic, is it alright to put a bit of baby oil on the cotton ball I use to stimulate her to use the bathroom

I wonder if the little bump could be a hernia?

thats what i was thinking, there is no color change to the skin and you only see it when she is using her stomach muscles. Do you know if there is anything i could do if it is a hernia

I'm not sure if there is anything to do about a hernia except for surgery to fix it. I don't think they are a serious problem, especially if it's not big.
Maybe if you just kept an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get any bigger, and if you take her to the vet just point it out and ask about it?
Can you post a picture>

Can you get a close up photo to share with our rehabbers here. I am still concerned that it could be a larva infestation, not saying it is, but it would be good to eliminate that as a probable cause, because it is something that would need to be addressed ASAP IF it turned out to be that.

the bump is on her belly and is not showing up in the pics, it has not changed at all in size or color, we didnt notice it until the second day we had her and we found her 4 days ago
