H2O? Cupcake says No2O!

Hi guys!

Cupcake is getting to be a BIG girl now! She is doing better about eating her fruits , veggies and scones on her own - but still hasn't touched her water. I have one of those rodent water thingies in her cage and shes absolutely clueless, i tried a little bowl and she doesn't seem to know how to lap up any liquid yet. She just face plants in it! Tempting her with formula doesn't work either - she looks at me like "No no , YOU are suppose to feed this to ME mom!"

I still give her formula 3 - 5 times a day, but im worried shes not getting enough liquid, or if i get home late she will dehydrate? I know her raw foods have a fair amount - but is it enough? I worry about her getting thirsty during the day.

She'll be fine so long as she's still on formula. Even tapering off to twice a day, a squirrel will still get enough liquid in those two feedings to last them all day. It's when they no longer want formula that they really need the water...don't worry. :)

try the hanging water bottle. I did this after having to change the water because it got dirty or knocked over constantly. As IR said you are fine as long as the formula is being given because of the water content:D
