Well, I'm not sure what to make of what I just saw. My female prevost was eating orange/bananas (according to some research) they can eat fruits in their natural habitat along with nuts or seeds. She is active and ran back her bowl for more food and water.
This is the female paired up with the prevost male. She also looks really "full". I'm wondering if she is pregnant now? The impression I was given that these guys were difficult to breed.
I have read other posts that show mixed info regarding vomiting and I'm assuming that she's probably okay. Just never saw a squirrel eat, drink, run away, and vomit. She tried eating it after words but I cleaned it up right away.
Just curious.

As far as I can see, they still go to bathroom, eat, and drink. Most information we've researched shows that they eat fruits, nuts, seeds, and even bird eggs in the wild.
She's still active and drinks/eats. Not sure what or why it happened. the fruit we give is thoroughly cleaned but it is always a possibility of pesticide. The only thing the other 3 have not shown signs of illness.
They have not been able to get out of the room they're in or cage. We have redundant secure set up to prevent any animal from escaping the areas they're in. If they did get out of the cage they are kept in a closed room environment, we have nothing that they could get into. We try to do this for the safety of the animals and easing the process of catching an animal that got loose. Plus keeps the cat and dogs away.
It was the only times she done this.that I can see at least. The only noteable issue is she looks full in her abdominal area. We've had these two together since the first of August, and not sure if they would breed so quickly. But with 42 day gestation period, I guess it could be possible she's pregnant too (I hope).
If it persists much longer I'll take them back to the vet to have both checked out. Then I'm going to have to go back through the information we collected and contact the zoo's that have them to clarify orginal information obtained regarding diets.
I hope she's okay though.

I really wouldn't worry about it, it is common for squirrels to puke occasionally. Fruit seems to be the culprit more often than not as well. . I made the mistake many years back of giving a squirrel thawed frozen blueberries, two times when they had them, they puked. I only gave them fresh organic fruit after that. To avoid any possible pesticides, or other chemicals ,organic is the best choice. Do not give them fruit for a few days, and be easy on the food, just to let their stomach rest. Vomiting hurts as you know if repeated allot. If it persists, that is another matter and a trip to the Vet is in order, and likely blood tests too.
