I have a new baby.. I think he has a cold. His noes is running on the left and he has cold in his eye. I am keeping him warm he is eating, no clicking in his chest. He is about 7 weeks old. He is a Hurricane baby.

No this is my 13th baby this summer. I have been doing this for about 20 years. I have never had one with a cold or do they get colds? I do not want to start any meds If I don't need to. I think to many problems come along with the meds.

In many cases the right meds for the right condition = LIFE :thumbsup

Do keep us posted - especially if the conditions worsen.

I am worryed about it going to his chest.I am keeping a close eye on him. He was out in the rain all day Monday. The man did not find him untill tuesday. There are a lot of babys comming in now that people are out cleaning there yards some are in really bad shape. I will be on over load for the next couple of weeks.

Hi!
Here is what I would do if you want to steer clear of meds.
I would use Astragalus and Golden Seal Echinacea ( both safe on rodents) along with steam baths ( hot shower will produce steam ) and maybe some olbas oil dabbed on the cage walls to help nasal passages.
You can use saline for the eyes and also for the nose or baby nose drops for the nose to help keep them clear.
Make sure he has air circulation but also warmth.
This method has worked wonders for me before I ever got the means to get meds and I agree if you do not REALLY need meds its best to stay away from them.
