Even though I always pee her, Penny falls asleep and urinates on herself...all the time and always has.
I use the warm cloth and nothing.
She is always wet when I get her up to feed.
What's up?
I have to bathe the lower half alot.
She is sore from this. Sometimes her groin is slightly red and she complains when I wipe her. Her hairy belly looks unkempt, her brother is spotless and follows the potty rules!
I put diaper rash ointment on, Is vaseline better? I have the ointment without zinc?:dono
What am I doing wrong!
I have never had this problem with any sq! She is 2months plus.:soapbox
Esbilac, sometimes with vanilla Stonebrooks yogurt, pecans, avacado, apple, grape and an occasional cheerio, water is accessible.
What am I doing wrong...she is tender, but otherwise normal and happy.
Thanks for any suggestions!:Love_Icon

Hi Jackie....maybe try peeing her again after about hour after you tried the first time to prevent her from peeing on herself :dono and if that doesn't work trying again later. Since her area is sore are you using a warm q-tip on the vaginal area to prevent the surrounding area from being irritated? I'm not sure about the ointments as I always use Emu Oil as it is absorb quickly and is non-toxic if she or others lick it.
Also can you cut out the vanilla yogurt as it contains sugars that she doesn't need and just add plain yogurt which doesn't contain any sugers...natural or artifical....sugars aren't that good for them and I'm sure she is getting enough sugar in the cheerio and the fruits provided.
Hopefully you can get more help than what I just provided...I would definitely cut out the vanilla yogurt though and stick to plain yogurt.

Thanks T...now that I read your response...dang, that is alot of sugar!
Not so many cheerios...now that they are getting pecans, mostly make a mess with them, not alot of eating going on.
Emu Oil...what is it and where do I get it?

I bought it off a ebay in a large container only because I use it as lotion etc. and as a healing balm. It can be expensive but it also depends on how much you want to buy.
I'll give you a link to a larger bottle, but you can do a general emu oil search and find a smaller bottle or search that seller for a smaller bottle. You can check beauty supply/health food stores as well if you need it ASAP.
I wanted to give you a link so you know what you are looking for

I will look for emu oil while getting biosalts today, if it is not too expensive...
when I use the diaper rash ointment her skin stops being red and sensitive, but I don't know how safe it is if they lick it! So I only use if already red. not as preventative.
Anyone know if Diaper Rash ointment is ok?

I had a little pissy boy, Nino, last year who was exactly as you described Penny. And besides looking awful he STUNK...the only stinky squirrel I've ever had. What cured him was one day I smeared his whole belly with Silvadene cream (sulfur sulfadiazine) and within 4-5 hours he was so much better I thought I had picked up the wrong squirrel! He would still pee on himself every once in awhile after that but it really stopped shortly after. :thumbsup
