My little squirrels are about 10 days old they lost there umbilical cords this weekend.:wahoo i was wondering if i should cut back the feedings from every 2 hours to every 3? and also there skin looks kind of dry? i don't think there dehydrated because I've been giving them Pedilite every morning and night. and sometimes in between. If you can post some photos of them, so the rehabbers here can take a look at them, that would be very helpful.

Sometimes small pinkie squirrels will have dry, scaly skin that will slough off and this is normal, but it can also be caused by dry heat. You may need to increase the humidity of their container by covering the container w/ a damp wash cloth or papertowel. You can also rub them down w/ a small amt of mineral oil ( wipe off excess) to add moisture to the skin. Just make sure that they are not truely dehydrated.
