I have a 3 - 4 week baby. She has been eating fine and urinating well but hasn't defecated since I first rescued her (3 days ago). I rehydrated her with pedialyte for 24 hours, waking up every 2 hours at night to make sure I did it right. The first night she had small very dark hard poos but nothing since. Yesterday there was some liquid vibrant green I wiped off her bum. I gave her bottom half a bath in warm water last night and I have tried massaging her. She has been on dilute formula for 1 1/2 days now - esbilac 1:2 with water which I introduced gradually from 1:4 with water. She doesn't seem bloated and she has a lot of energy when I am holding her. She is also pretty strong for one so small. What should I do?

Some of the more experienced rehabbers will chime in but are stimulating her with a cotton ball that has warm water on it?
I'm not sure as to what age that is no longer necessary.

Hello, I live in Mississauga Ontario. This vet in the link above in High Park will treat your squirrel. They will not report you or take him away. I don't think your squirrel needs a vet at this point but it is nice to know in case the situation arrives.
I think your squirrels problem might be due to the sudden change in diet. It may have not pooed for the first couple of days when you got it because its stomache was empty. Now that it is filled it is pooing but may have runs because of the change in diet.
I have tried PMing you with my phone # in case you need help but I cannot send it to you. ask one of the administrators to help you enable your PMs.

I have just emailed asking for it to be enabled. Do you think it would be wise to just post an email address here that I don't often use?
