squirrel questions

i’m in jacksonville, fl and fay washed 3 newborn squirrels out of a tree in front of my house. unfortunately, 2 of them died but the remaining one is doing really well. he’s very active, eats well and is going to the bathroom after each feeding. i gave them pedialyte after their second feeding and squirrely eats ¼-½ cc every 2.5-3 hrs. he weighs 1 oz. and i think he’s doing great, but i’ve got a couple of questions.

1. is it ok that sometimes he only eats ¼ cc instead of the entire ½?
2. is it ok that i’ve stretched his feedings from every 2 hrs to every 3? sometimes he doesn’t seem that hungry and just wants to sleep and i don’t want to overfeed him. last night, it was less frequently because we had no power and i was exhausted from the day before.

i gave them some pedialyte last night, but i'll give him some more next time i feed him. dehydration never occured to me again because he doesn't look like it.

the last tip worked! i gave him pedialyte and then with his next feeding he was more active and ate everything. i'm so happy!:wahoo

i'm really heartbroken to say that my little squirrel died. i'm so distraught and i'm trying to figure out what i did wrong. my mother found the babies out in the rain and had no idea how long they had been down on the ground. his brothers died fairly quickly, so maybe he was sick anyway. i made sure there were no bubbles in his formula, i kept him clean, i kept him warm, got him rehydrated. he aspirated 3 times, but he seemed fine.
