Got 2 baby squirrels. Eyes open, black.

Seems decent hydration and healthy for now.

Prolly 2.5-4 wks by this chart:http://home.wi.rr.com/frettchen/UNTIL2.htm

Very small

Can anyone take them?

Never mind, found a nice lady to take them in through the state dept. of wildlife.

She's a rehabber and will apparently look after these guys.

Wish em luck, bastards cost me bunch of gas money, but they were surprisingly cute

GREAT job! :thumbsup Thank you SO much for finding these PRECIOUS babies help! :bowdown :bowdown :grouphug If you should find any more, we have a member on here, who is a rehabber, called squirrelsrule&bunniestoo. She lives in NE Ohio, and I know she would help you out. :thumbsup

They are CUTE little "bastards", aren't they? :Love_Icon :Love_Icon :Love_Icon :jump

:thankyou :thankyou :thankyou

yeah, they were pretty cute. Much nicer than the adult versions that make a racket.

But the lady didn't live too far away, and she said I could drop em off, and she was really nice. She had a nice outdoor cage and some smaller ones where young/sick guys were.

So we (she really) cleaned em up good and got em warmed up/hydrated.

She says she thinks they'll be fine, so its a happy ending.

I would've felt guilty, probably, if I didn't try I guess.

Thanks for the help anyways, but I think I got them all, cuz I looked before I made the drive over to the rehab ladies place.

Edit:

Oh, and I was gonna say, they were abandoned, I didn't steal them or anything. I waited for the momma to come back- too long really cuz the state dept told me to leave them out overnight, which the rehabber said was very stupid for them to say, to see if the mom came back.

They were huddled under a tree that almost certainly had no nest, too small and short for me to miss it.

I have been catching squirrels in my attick and relocating them, as I asked on here earlier about, but I took everyones advice and checked very thouroughly for nipples and signs of pregnancy on the three squirrels I caught in the attick, and none were pregnant or nursing/lactating, and they were the wrong color for these babies anyways...

But yeah, I didn't steal them, they were abandoned. They had some fly eggs in their fur that are now removed, and are apparently pretty healthy and weren't dehydrated much, so the lady said they should be totally fine and able to be released when they get older.
