So for those of you that have helped me through Frick's puffiness and apparent bite - a HUGE thanks! After reading some of the posts on here, I went and got a bunch of fresh fruits and vegetables to introduce to him. He had been eating formula, granola, raisings, peanuts and pistachios. He tasted everything and really liked the green grapes and green beans. Today though, I put him in for his nap and he seemed like he always does. He'd run around a lot today since his foot must be feeling better. I went back to check on him and discovered he'd thrown up. I haven't known him to do this before so I'm a little freaked...I'm hoping he just ate too much and it disagreed with him. Goodness knows the combination of things made me feel a little nauseous too. Anyway...I saw another thread where someone's baby had puked...I think Fallen? People were asking about the color and such so I took a picture. He has had some water since he got sick, but doesn't seem to want much else right now. If anyone can guide me from here...I'd greatly appreciate it. :) Sorry in advance for the grodiness of the picture. :(

When Gracie and Ryleigh got really sick back in the winter. (Gracie was vomitting, and lethargic.) They only common food they had eaten were grapes from Giant.

Salad bars are notorious for spaying their stuff with chemicals to keep things "looking" fresh:shakehead

Awww...poor baby! I'm not sure I can add anymore about my experience with Fallen. I'm not sure what he got into as he was outside eating wild stuff so who knows, but he also had diarrhea for 24 hours.
Fallens vomit look different too. His was the color of rodent block and not much moisture to it, and it was a little pasty like....everything looked well digested. Your little guy's tummy didn't even have time to digest the food from the looks of it, so whatever he ate must of upset his tummy quite fast. It's a nerve racking thing to see, and yes I always say Fallen has aged me 10 yrs. :shakehead
Glad to see he is getting back to normal though!

He took some formula tonight and has had gatorade today...so hopefully he'll be back to normal tomorrow. that little pile doesn't actually look like anything he ate. how can you tell it's not digested? it looked to me like it was a little pile of mush that was completely unrecognizable. eek!
before i go...i just have to say the pictures of your squirrel are SO cute! is it all the same baby?

If you are taling about Fallen, that is all the same squirrel - one of the cutest on TSB!!:D He's a little sweetie.
I sure hope Frick is doing better. In a way I'm glad he barfed - better out than in. I'd watch out for grapes. Many are from Mexico and I'm suspicious of the pesticides that might be on them.
just curious - how did he get his name? Frick?
Sorry not to have any real input here - not much ecperience with squirrels vomiting.:dono

If you look at the big picture of Frickster's vomit it looks a little chunky like vegetable matter and I also see some green like lettuce. When Fallen puked it look as if somebody pureed rodent block as it was smooth non-chunky. Thats why I said it look like Frickter wasn't digested.

He defintely is an adorable baby...how old is he now? Frick had a brother. I was going to name them Lucy and Ethel but then saw they were both boys. So I picked Frick and Frack...thought it was cute. :) I was the other things he's eating well...he's not got a full appetite back, but he IS eating.

I don't know if this will help, but some years back, late at night, a major network had a program on, as to which foods we buy in grocery stores are safe for our families. One poor lady had bought grapes for her family, and her kids ate them too, only to find out after they were tested, that they were particularly high in pesticides, even so she had washed them. UGH!!! The testing was done by an independent company, and showed that most fruit with skins like grapes and tomatos are very vulnerable to absorbing pesticides, and that washing them does not remove the pesticides effectively. Since then, I do not buy anything but organic fruits, and vegetables, period! Iceburg lettuce was another one that was found to have high level of peticides, being prone to bugs eating it up, without the use of them. Well the bugs can have it, as far as I'm concerned, I hate that particular kind of lettuce anyway, for it always tastes bitter! Perhaps that is WHY it does? :dono
As far as squirrels vomiting, I had a couple of squirrels vomit, after they both ate dethawed frozen blueberries. I stopped offering them to them after that, finding they weren't even interested in them after that anyway! They did love the fresh blueberrries, raspberries, and strawberries allot, but they were organice all the way, or I just won't give them to them at all. Sometimes it was hard to find fruit and vegetables all times of the year that are organic, so I would switch to whatever fruit and/or vegetables was in season at any particular time. Since squirrels experience the same, it did nto see it as a problem to do that.

Thanks for the info...he seems to like the apples, blueberries and grapes best. Where do you get organic fruit from?
