Someone brought me a baby sugar glider a little bit ago and it is dehydrated and it's skin and bones. I know nothing about what they eat. I have been treating it just like a baby squirrel as far as keepin it warm and giving it pedialite. Is that right? Like I said this is the first time I have ever even been around one really. So help me and the poor little guy out!

Well now I think it's a flying squirrel...I know I'm making myself look stupid but I have never been around either....From looking at pics on the computer it looks most deffenetly like a flying squirrel.

yup defenetly a flying squirrel. So I'm guessing just keep on hydrating it and keeping it warm then feed it it'a specific diet? I looked that up on here.

Yup done all that! I'm mostly worried about his back legs. What should be done? What could it be?

lol got puppy milk already. He's not my first baby just my first flyer. So it's the same thing for all squirrels as far as formula and hydratng? And no the milks not old it's a bran new bucket of powder.

Good luck! A flyer is brown/grey, a glider is grey with a black stripe down its back.

No we lost him at about 3 this morning...He whent into spazems and then he just whent limp...I got up with him about every 4 hours. He was getting hydrated. his skin wasn't tenting anywhere near as bad as it was. I really thought he was gonna pull through. But he was in such bad shape and so young. He had NO meat on his bones. I also talked to the guy who found him again this morning and he told me a cat had it:shakehead I think he had internal injuries...

I'm sorry to hear that your little flying squirrel didn't make it. I know you took quick action, sought help on TSB, and did all the right things because you have experience raising a squirrel, but sometimes these things happen unfortunately. Thank you for having provided the flying squirrel comfort and much needed hydration during her last moments. Now the flyer is flying to the Heavens knowing she was loved, protected and cared for.:grouphug :grouphug

I love your enthusiasm! Next time you'll know that baby flyers are to be cared for the same way as baby squirrels so you will be ahead of the game.:thumbsup
