What does a squirrel need uk

Hi we found a baby squirrel laying next to its dead mother yetreday Sunday, I have bought it home its approx 6 to 9 weeks old as can feed a little on its own but is still wanting a couple of milk feeds

I am feeding it goats milk yougurt, pine nuts , small bits of grape, I have put it for now in a cage meant for chinchillas as this is all i could get

i have a towel on the flower with wood pekkets and a wooden nesting box and tea towel and teddy soft toy water bottle and food

what should his habitate be like Its against the law to let grey squirrels go in the UK, but i am not sure if they could be made into a pet

of course right now he loves to be handled

could i have some advice please on how best to keep him comfy and is it against UK law to keep him captive?

Of course he had fleas but have used a kitten flea treatment on him and touch wood no live fleas anymore

could i please have advice as here in UK they should be killed and not let free

Heat is necessary at this stage in his life. Do you have a heating pad you can put in part of the cage for him to snuggle on?

Can you post a picture of the baby so we can see how it's doing? If you post a picture of the "parts" we can tell you if you've got a baby boy or a baby girl. :thumbsup

Thanks people no i will not be able to let him go as DEFRA are funding a huge cull of grey squirrels, he is happy feeding well eating a few bits of food but still having 4 milk feeds a day goats milk and yogurt.

I cant get him/her to use the water bottle

I hope this works this is after yesterday evenings milk feed
