I think I saw a squirrel scurry over my fence with an avocado peel from my compost bin.
If they like avocadoes -- and it's okay for them to eat avocadoes -- I'll put some out on my patio. |

Yes and mine loves it. I feed it to him in small chunks with the peel still attached.

Thank you!
We bought too many avocadoes last week, so I am going to make some squirrels happy right now. I'll try your method of cutting it up with the skin. ![]() |

Mine too love a plate of avocado. Don't give them the pits though!

They do like avacado, but DONT give the SKIN.Its toxic.Normally they dont eat the skin. But if they do, it can lead to problems. The outer skin, the seed and the skin covering the seed is all toxic.I have an avacado tree next to my bedroom and squirrels wait till the fruit falls to the ground to eat them.( So that the fall will open the fruit )
Also avado has lots of fat.It should be given in small quantities.Or it can cause a greenish diarrhea.( Which is bad ). So bottom line is, Avacado is good.and its a quick boost for energy. But it must be given with care. |

Thanks everybody!
Avocadoes that I cut up small were a big hit on the patio. Enough squirrels came that I don't think any single squirrel gorged on them. |
