I think Snuggles is itching and need to bathe him in something to stop the itching. I don't think it's from any mites or anything. He is on antibiotics for the UTI. I just don't know what to use that will not hurt him or should I just use warm water?

I have a aloe plant and my girl chews on the piece when I use it on her. My vets just laughed when I told her that. Dr H said it wouldn't hurt her.

I use the unscented baby wipes on Picasso to keep him smelling good, but if its an itching issue then diluted Dawn might be the answer as mentioned above by one of the other members... Dawn is great to use on animals to help keep the fleas under control, use it on my dogs every two weeks.

Brand new to the site! this is my first question:
I've used Dawn soap to wash my little man. But, is it safe to use any dog shampoo? I supposed the colognes in it would probably not be very good for him.... Opinions? I have Aloe and Oatmeal dog shampoo. |

Just out of curiosity, why are you having to bathe him? I would not use dog shampoo due to scents.

No dog soaps. In fact, I don't even think I would be using Dawn dishwashing soap. What I do with mine because she is handicapped and gets urine on her legs periodically, I just take a warm wet wash cloth (no soap or other chemicals) and very gently rub her down with it. She loves her ears rubbed with a damp wash cloth too. Why are you bathing him?

I dont use anything but diluted dawn dishsoap if Hammie gets a little pooh on him, unscented wipes work to but for tougher poopies the warm water and dawn on a soft cloth does wonders |

Bathing a squirrel is not unlike bathing a feral cat.
I just used Softsoap with moisturizers on Cheeky's lower half when he had diarrhea so bad. Then I just held that half under warm water to rinse. I used Neosporin on his red bottom hole. And we lived happily ever after.

If you can get your hands on some silvadene cream (it is prescription only but can be purchased in various places online without a script), there isn't anything much better for formula or urine scald.
