The video of him slurping up the formula is a smile maker for sure 😁
His side looks a little pinkish but again cold be just the lighting.
He sure took to you 😀

    Pete,

We weighed him at lunch today and he appears to weigh 6 grams.

Yikes, that is so tiny. I would hold treating him with Revolution till he has stabilized (pooping/peeing regularly, starts putting on some weight). I'll calculate a dosage just in case but only use it if there is some real compelling need, I think he should be at least 6+ weeks old in order to get treatment.

Sounds good. Thanks! Revolution requires a prescription - I can ask our vet, but they do not treat "exotics."

Get the pink 3 dose puppy/kitten pack. It may come in handy for many things in the future. It isn't like squirrels needing help don't have your contact info, amirite? You push the cap on the little vial down and it pierces the tube - once you dispense what you need, recap and push the pin down into the tube to seal it. I tape my opened Revolution tubes to the inside of my fridge door to keep them upright and you can continue using it. This place does not need a prescription.

Mys is on the mend and out of the woods. Here is a short clip of him feeling much better. This is a filbert - not an acorn:

Holy COW! He is sooo much improved. He comes when it is time to eat, he's getting formula/yogurt mix and block, and last night he showed mild interest in kale (the kind of interest Beaver Cleaver might show just because he's a polite kid). He's about twice the size and even looking a little pudgy. He sleeps a lot, but when he is awake he is all action. No tilting, much more coordinated, and all around in much better shape. He likes to go on top of his hut/igloo and run in tight fast circles. His nose is a little reddish, as is his skin - his fur is smooth. We'll get a picture and (try to get) a weight tonight. I'm guessing we're in the 10-12G range.

Ollie is nesting on my shoulder at the moment. I sense her telegraphing that I should be writing about her and not ... that ... mouse.

Given any choice, they are as nocturnal as the flyers are, so he may be sleepy during the day but I bet he is raising the roof at night!

When they are a bit older - I assume it is probably after their first molt, they develop their tan/pale beige hamster-like coloration.

Thats great! If he does not have one yet, get a mouse safe running wheel. All mice like to run in wheels, many LOVE running.

Sheesh! It is HARD to get this wiggly worm to sit still long enough to get an accurate weight. (Trumpets sounding) Mys's weight is now 14g! He's longer, plumper, and there is actually a slight sheen to his coat. If you can get me that dose, I'll order up the meds from Joe's. Thanks again for offering to do this.

    Jamie

p.s. I have already ordered that exact wheel and the Kaytee clear running ball. We are scratching our heads over a comfortable, ventilated cage - we know the wire spacing should be 1/4", and the best we can find is 3/8." We're looking at this one: https://www.chewy.com/prevue-pet-pro...caAlNNEALw_wcB

There are other choices that would provide a lot more fun and enrichment, but they all seem to be made of acrylic panels (poor ventilation even in perforated because perforations seem to be located at the tops of the sides) or 1/2" or greater bar spacing. We know the area needs to be larger than one might think, there needs to be a tray at the bottom for nesting/burrowing, and that taller and more levels is better. So far, a larger habitat with 1/4" bar spacing that is tall enough for multiple levels has been made of non-obtanium. Thoughts?

I used a large aquarium with metal mesh top cover. With only 1-2 mice and a cleaning (replacing all bedding, cleaning walls and floor, new triscuit boxs and egg cartoons etc etc), every 2 weeks, ventilation, smells etc was not problem and they seemed happy and healthy.

Thanks! I feel so sorry for your little guys. Such a barren habitat. Not a thing to play with. Not a thing to do. ;-)

Looking forward to the dosage, will order right away.
