    Default Switching formulas

I have my baby foxer on Esbilac formula right now, but recently ordered Fox Valley. Should I slowly transition him to the new kind or can I hair start feeding Fox Valley when I get it?!

I would transition your baby to the fox valley ...I'm assuming he's getting older and that's why you're changing...to be safe you can go 3/4 Esbilac-1/4 fox valley....for a few feedings. Then 1/2 and 1/2 for a few...then 1/4-3/4 for a few....I'd say in two days he'd be completely transitioned

    The Peace of Wild Things
    BY WENDELL BERRY
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

You will need to transition him slowly.
I have 5 that I've had on esbilac, I started to transition to FV to use 50-50.
I started with (after mixing) 2/3 esbilac, 1/3 FV. They did very well so I then
increased to 50-50 esbilac and FV. Their stool started getting soft so I backed
back down to 2/3-1/3. That's something you will need to watch for...

What FV did you purchase 32-40 or 20-50?

20-50. I'm switching because I read that FV is much better nutrionally for them.

They are both nutritionally balanced and I've had fantastic results with very healthy babies on esbilac alone.
I rarely use FV unless a baby was already started on it before my intake.

I have found that 50/50 Esbilac and FV 20/50 is the perfect formula. I would definitely switch slowly, but I would stick with the 50/50 personally.

Agreed, I have found that 50/50 Esbilac/FV works really good. Both have things the other lacks, so the combo of them is really good. As stated, start 75/25 Esbilac to FV for a few feedings, then bump to 50/50. Sometimes I give a little plain fluids in between feedings just to help with the transition.
