    Default mineral blocks

I was wondering if I should give Max, almost 7 weeks old (his eyes opened 9/21) any kind of a mineral block..like those fruit flavored ones? I ordered HHB tonight. Have placed rodent blocks in his cage with a water bottle. Still won't touch either yet. He is still on formula every 4-6 hours and eats between 15-18 cc per feeding. Max weighs 213 grams. I've included a picture of Max snuggling with me watching TV from tonight.
    Thanks!

Awe - the pic is adorable...... wish I could get my baby to snuggle with me, but all Apollo wants to do is run all over the place then stop by my face and hands for a sec to nip me just long enough to say hi, then he is back off and running again.

To answer your question, No --nothing else is needed. Sounds like you are doing every thing right at this point. Just leave a small piece of the hhb in his cage each day so he can get use to it and once he is eating it then you can give him 1/2 a block to eat them work your way up to 1 block 2x a day.

Assuming we're thinking on the same type mineral blocks
I don't see the harm but would hold off on them for awhile.
You really want him eating his rodent block and eating it well
before other editable sources provide a distraction.

Thank you so much for replying. I read somewhere that a cuttlebone was good for calcium. I use those pineapple flavored and shaped mineral blocks for my bird and was wondering if this was needed also. Thanks again. Max is still at the cuddle bug phase after feedings so I take full advantage, but is getting more playful. It's adorable!

Cuttlebone is good if yours will take to it, some do some don't.
Deer antler is an excellent source! Most squees really go for them
and they are really a great tool for them to keep their teeth filed
    down too.

I don;t know about mineral blocks, but if you're talking about the calcium blocks shaped like pineapples, ice cream cones, etc, yes, they are good and many people use them.
