    Default Hickory Nuts

One of my co-workers told me she had a hickory tree in her yard and asked if she could bring hickory nuts for Abbi. Back home, our wilds ate hickory nuts like crazy. I just wanted to double check that it's alright to give them to Abbi and at what stage she should be eating them. They still have the green casing on them, but they had fallen off the tree.

I would wait for them to dry so you can strip the outer husk off - they will make a horrible mess otherwise - they have a brown stain that gets on everything. EXTREMELY hard shells - good for keeping teeth trimmed.
