Default TUMS as a regular supplement?

I gave Skiddil a TUMS just to see if she would eat it willingly. She LOVED it! So now my question is, what would be a good amount to give her on a regular basis as a supplement? My thinking is that if she likes them, why not just give her some as a treat, as a way to get her calcium in her? But obviously I don't want to overdo it. So what do you recommend? I have 500mg tabs and a pill splitter. It would be easy to give her just a little chunk. Thoughts? Does this sound like a good idea or no?

No, I would not recommend giving Tums to your squirrel on a regular base as you could over does the squirrel very easily and that with in its self can cause health problems. What I would suggest if you are not already feeding them is to start your squirrel on hhb and make sure it eats 1-2 blocks per day, so all the vitamins and nutrients needed will be obtained.

I agree about the HHB's, and also Henry's sells calcium carbonate in powder form -- very inexpensive and lasts forever. You can sprinkle a little bit every day on her veggies or whatever she loves the best, and there's her calcium without all the other stuff that is in a Tums.

I had asked this before and was told it'd be alright to give Abbi 1/4 of a tums every week, or every other week. She eats her block really well, but this site kinda makes you paranoid about MBD lol.

I really doubt that AM's routine would hurt anything at all.

There is only need for worry if the hhb blocks and a healthy diet is not being followed..... other supplements or extra Tums is not needed.
