Squirrel Season?

To all the "seasoned" Squirrel mommies: When is squirrel season? Is there a particular time of the year that babies tend to be born? Im assuming its around now since the winter was over and huddling to keep warm and doing "other" things too
My guy is due to be released to the trees tomorrow and my heart longs to be a squammy again! Its just not the same without him. Just curious, is there any place that I should look in particular? I just want to help!

Usually and most typically in MD and the mid Atlantic we start getting baby squirrels in mid January or a little later. We see most of the bulk of babies through about late April. A stray or two may come in after that. January - May is known as the "Spring season". The next season, know as the "Fall season" usually starts late June/July and we can see babies coming in through about Oct.-Nov. I have had some babies come in as late as Dec. but not too many. I always say, "It looks like I will be feeding babies under the Christmas tree." And I really have had to stop decorating the Christmas tree to go feed babies. Many of the Fall babies, unless they come in in early June, July, or August, will have to be over wintered. BTW, you will love my new babies. I got them in about 2 weeks ago. I hope you will help me feed them tomorrow.

December-January, June-July(or Aug.) has been the "normal"
mating season in the past. In some regions it has been suspected
that there may be a third season due to the discovery of new born
out of the normal expected seasons.
The female's pregnancy is approximately 45 days.
