Super job, Graham looked so healthy/strong on your husband's back, his instincts certainly took over quickly. He was such a sweetheart, he would have to be missed, possums are so very addictive.
The first pic on your husband's back is priceless, what a beautiful face/expression .
Great job! Good luck out there Graham!

Good luck Graham!!!! He is such a handsome boy!
Thanks everyone! No Graham sightings yet, but his dish that my hubby left in the woods with food was empty - we left it covered, so not sure if Graham or some other critter got it, but food seems plenteous this time of year in the woods, so I'm sure he'll find his own anyway. Hubby still goes out and looks for him from time to time - who knows, one night he may just pay us a visit. We do miss him, but we know he's where he belongs.

Congrats on releasing Graham. I can imagine how hard it must have been for your husband to lose his baby. It's too bad there not more like squirrels who might come back every day.
Sweet Graham will be fine, possums move around a lot, go all over the place, I would not be surprised if he came back for a visit either (praying so).
I saw Graham today!! I went outside this morning to collect a little snow for my fuzzers to play in and feed the stray kitty who found us - he stays in our bonus room that is detached from the house most of the time (since my hubby has some cat allergies, not to mention having three squirrels) - that is where we feed him too. Anyhow, I went to feed him and was surprised to see a possum sitting there just looking at me. He wasn't really startled at my presence and when I called his name, he just looked at me the way Graham used to. It wasn't until I was getting my phone out to try and get some pics that he slowly waddled away. But I could defiantly tell it was him!!
It was pretty early in the morning and the lighting was bad, so I couldn't get any pictures.
I just wish hubby could have seen him... he misses Graham so much. I went in to get him, but Graham was gone by the time he got out there.
We have seen kitty with a possum one other time, but it was dark and we weren't 100% sure it was Graham with him. It's so weird though - kitty and Graham don't mind eachother at all and almost seem to be friends! Maybe Graham thinks kitty is a possum, since they are they are the same color?!
I was SOOO happy to see him alive and well after all this time!

Glad you know Graham is ok
You know they LOVE cat food - so I am sure he will be back

Yay! What a wonderful surprise.....I'm sure he's around a lot....they just keep odd hours I wouldn't see mine if it wasn't for the game camera I'm really happy Graham is still here and hasn't strayed away from his home

The Peace of Wild Things
BY WENDELL BERRY
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
What a wonderful update! It is so rewarding to see a happy, healthy critter that you helped and even better when they remember you!

What a "feel really, really good" kind of story, lennysmom! Thank you for posting the link on your Lenny thread. Graham sure was a Daddy's Boy. He did not have his mouth open as if a little scared in any of the shots where your husband was holding him, and in that last one before release where he was on your husband's back, Graham was actually smiling! What good news that you recently had a Graham sighting, too. Thanks again for posting this link. I love happy endings.
I love this whole thread, and it's happy 'ending' which really isn't an ending because Graham is fine and living the possie life! I love the way your hubby bonded with Graham, lennysmom. Those pix are so special.
