    Though not endorsing the use of this source; what it noted on the use, be it around animals or for raising vegetables, fruits, grains, to choose, "Food Grade" which does not exceeding the industry standard for toxic heavy metal content as so noted in this article below.

    For since squirrels are known to gnaw on rock deposits that contain calcium' in an enclosed space they may do so more than they would in the wild; I would not support the use of this source that still has as noted, toxic heavy metal content.
