Strange behavior

First time my little fellow has ever done anything like this, but he jumped on my arm and had his tail all bushed out and was chattering his teeth. I was afraid to grab him with my other hand/arm cause he was acting like my arm he was on was his territory. Anyone have any ideas why he would act like this?

This display is done when a squirrel sees, hears or smells some thing they deem as threat to him or his territory (or babies if the squirrel is a female with young)..... so your squirrel was giving a warning to what ever it was he felt was a threat to stay away (from both you and him).

My Picasso does this some times when it is just me and him in the house, therefore, I am left confused to what he is treated by..... maybe he picked up the scent of one my dogs toys while they were out side in the yard - IDK.
