Rehabbers In Ontario, Canada????? help.

hello.

we need to know the status of squirrels as pets in ontario.

squirrelfriend will be taking squirrel to vet tomorrow but we are unsure of vets' experience and also whether or not the squirrel might be seized.

Does anyone know of anything that might help?

Are there any rehabbers in ontario?/Canada.

squirrelfriends' squirrel has bad teeth problems.

Always call first, always verify they will not destroy a squirrel, never take the chance they will confiscate them, never!

I talked to them and they said that they are not in the business of seizing peoples pets. They seemed honest that they have no intention of taking him from me. If anyone ever tried to take him from me they would be in for a big surprise. They would have to pry him from my dead hands to get him. Then I would haunt them.

Sadly TSB recently lost a sq due to a rehabbers {morons} opinion on teeth!
So I am on guard lately, sorry.

I'd love to help you as a fellow Canadian, but I too don't know of any in Ontario. I have seen that list of rehabbers on that thread. Hope you find one there. Good luck, hope everything worksout.

This Vet find in your area is very good news!
Hopefully others in Canada who have pet squirrels, will be able to find Vets that are willing to treat their squirrels as pets too! mjs

one vet is good but laws which protect squirrels and allow people to treat their pets is better.

right now they're against the law in ontario (where i live) and treatable but unprotected in quebec, not sure if they're protected in ontario either.

I'm still looking for kind hearted rehabbers just to have a network going.

i'm so glad i don't need one (yet) and have a vet (maybe - who knows how long) but in the case of squirrel friend last week was very scary.

so far what we can see is that there's 4 official canadians on this board.
