I sure am, I only hope I'm not over-doing it with you guys :crazy

I think one reason they've become so important to me is, that I've always been such a typical "type a" personality. if i don't have something 'important' to be doing, I find something and make it important. these guys have taught me the meaning of relaxing, of losing yourself in something. I'll sit and watch them for a good half hour, and then- this is the amazing part- not feel guilty for 'wasting' time. I am a better person because of them.

Mrs Jack; My day is lost if I don't get to go out every morning with my coffee and sit and watch my wild babies for at least an hour. Then from spring until the weather gets COLD I eat my dinner outside in the evenings and spend anywhere from an hour to two with my wild babies. My husband knows not to expect anything out of me or even to try and talk to me in the morning until my morning relaxation time with my squirrels is over then it is time for all my rituals with my house babies. I simply have to have my meditation times with my squirrels everyday or I am not a fit person to be with and sleep is not peaceful.
God bless those furry little tails!

Oh yes, forgot to mention, I have a pair of bunny slippers that actually look like real rabbits and Timber is so jealous of them and I guess he thinks they are eating my feet or something because he will jump on them and attack them if I have them on around him. Needless to say I rarely wear them because they make him eithr mad or crazy or both.

You all make me feel good. We just set a squirrel fingerpuppet down to see if baby would take a peanut from it. she was deeply suspicious. she did steal its pecans though.
It's been an odd morning. First, amazing news for us- there's this huge pine tree behind us, who's branches come across the back of the house, and we were just able to sit on the back porch steps for the longest time watching a squirrel stripping leaves off the maple and then taking them into this one huge branch- a nest, right there! right where we can sit and watch the comings and goings. I am so excited, but I am also tense, I'm worried if we have a windstorm. I'm sure the squirrels know what they're doing though.

But then, we heard this rushing noise, they were flushing out the fire hydrant which is next door and blocked off this street and a tsunami is going down it. I saw Mrs. Jack across the street in the neighbors lawn and started waving my arms "NO DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS!!!" and started pitching pecans in the shell over there. Now the firemen are looking at me funny.

Mrs. Jack,
Isn't it amazing how such a small creature as a squirrel can help change our personalities. I to am a type A person. In the 10 months I have had my beloved Rocky I have learned patience. Used to I never sat down during the day. But now I just love spending time with him playing and watching him. We built him a huge outside cage and guess who sits out there with him several hours a day. I have a chair in there and I just sit with him, he is much more content in there when one or both of us are with him. I sometimes read and sometimes play with him and at times just watch this awesome little creature. The only time he his alone in there is the days I work (4 days per week) from about 7:30 Am until around 10:00 AM. Gets too hot after that, he likes to come in and get in the AC until late in the evening.
We never get tired of you pics or posts so keep them coming. Your babies are precious!!!:bowdown

It is amazing. I mean I'm 37 years old, who would've thought I'd have such a massive alteration in the way I look at life NOW.
I'll stop asking for reassurance now ;) I did need it for some reason, but that'll be what gets annoying, to me anyway :p

this is baby and the toy squirrel.

My heart is not going to be able to stand this nest thing. I just heard her rustling around up there, you can see the maple leaves in the pine branch where they don't belong.. and then one of the leaves fell, and then a minute later a bunch of them, then HER. she caught herself on a lower branch, went back up and now is merrily gathering more leaves.

please tell me she'll make sure it's REALLY secure before she puts babies in there. :Cry
