I need to know more about how to make a room safe for a flyer. I know to close all toilets, (no pools of water that they can drown in), and to cover all electric wires ( things that can electricute them if they nibble on it) but how do I keep him from going behind a refrigerator, under/behind a washer and dryer, ( those are my main concers) and do I need to make little ledges and stuff for him to perch on? I am having a hard time here. can you help? Thanks!

Your bedroom is probably your best bet. By the way, I moved your thread to the "Flying Squirrel Forum". If you look at the first thread in this forum, you will find some do's and dont's about owning a flying squirrel. Here is a link (http://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=396). I really think that you should read them and they might give you some ideas. In your bedroom you will have less to worry about and less people wandering around. Flyers are fast and will run right under somebody's foot. Ouch for the squirrel. The living room or kitchen is never going to get squirrel proofed to the degree that the squirrel will be safe and there is simply too much traffic in these rooms.
