Just a shot of the short tailed Northern Flyer at the feeder last night.
By the way, it's a cool -20 F on the old back door Thermometer...

ST looks like he/she took a nose dive into the ground. but i imagine by keeping your nose down and your body close to the ground it would help it to stay a bit warmer on the underside.
-20 degrees???? are you crazy man??? i freeze at 68 degrees. south carolina is as far north as i'm going. i would become a polar bear in alaska. and i don't mean a beautiful creature with a white coat. i mean an animal that is better off hibernating during the winter. if you made me come out of my warm cave/home i would eat you alive. grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

ohhh he's so sweet, even without the fat fluffy tail. If we have any northern flyers I wish they'd come some night.. I know we do close, but just not necessarily HERE where they should come!

Heh, Somebody's Mother, just a bit of Polar Bear Knowledge for you. They don't hiberante. One of the few bears that don't. Another bit of knowledge to pass on. Polar Bears are one of the few bears that will actually hunt man, if given the chance. They are one of the most aggressive bears on earth.

Shortail needs to come inside and his buddy too :D Looks like the bowl of food might be frozen??
I never knew that about polar bears. They are so pretty and cute on those Coca Cola commercials, sure glad you told me cause if I ever come up on one I would not have known to be afraid. Squerly tells me all the time I can't feed the bears, but I feed him LOL
