Crappy photo, but maybe you mouse experts can tell:

There's this little mouse who is living (or got stuck/separated from mama) in our addition that we're (still) working on. We noticed him after Moss accidently left the door open one night. I'm wondering if he's a baby because he's super tiny. He's also running around the addition all day, which is weird...I never see mice during the day. If he is eating on his own and running around, is he weaned? Or is he frantically trying to get out/look for mama? We left the door open again last night, but he didn't leave. I see him there right now...so, I'm wondering if he has made a home in our house now and if I should be helping him or trying to find him a 'better' living arrangement. :D

We've given him a few tiny fruits/veggies and a wee dish of water. ??? Am I feeding an adult here? :rolf

I saw another obvious adult yesterday and he was about 3 times the size of this one.

Looks like the very rare and hard to find species of invisamouse to me FW
When you put a pan of food out does it disappear without a trace?

Must have caught this while you were still trying to put the picture up
OK laughs on me:rotfl

looks like a little field mouse to me. if its eating nuts and such then it should be fine on its own...i would maybe think about finding this one new living arrangements.

Cool. That's what I wasn't sure of...I've just never seen a mouse as tiny. I didn't want to move him if he's too young still to survive on his own. :thumbsup Thanks!

She looks like a little deer mouse to me (field mouse). Look at the size of those feet. I've seen some pretty tiny babies running around. From googling info I've seen weaning at 2-3 weeks. I would imagine she is just fine and probably has a whole bunch of litter mates running about so this may not even be the same one you are seeing!!! :D

I'm feeding an army, probably. tinfoil Well, it's only been one night. They can fight the good fight without me now. :D I'm still amazed that a mouse so tiny could survive on his own...he's about the size of my thumb.

That is a white footed deermouse (that is what little Rosie was, the little girl I lost). Yes, they are weaned at 3 weeks tops, so I am sure she is fine. They actually make really neat pets.....just in case you were thinking of it....:rotfl

That's a just weaned mousie...Maybe deer mouse...age about 4-5 weeks old..Give him/her a nice comfy place to rest, some food, a little dish of water and he should be no problem...As long as they don't need to search for these things, they don't seem to get into any trouble...

Hey, if Rosie had made it, she would have stayed! Here she is btw. Her ears had opened the day before she passed. She was SO TINY! She was probably not quite a week old.

That is one darn cute little mousie Pap.:Love_Icon I'm sorry she didn't make it to adulthood. What a wonderful addition to your houseful of furred and feathered residents she would have been.:grouphug I love her little basket. Like it was made just for her.:D

Thank you. I knew the odds were stacked very high against her. I am glad she was not cold and alone when she passed. She was very loved in her very short little life.
