I have a giant parakeet cage. Its 5 ft tall. but I only have 2 parakeets, I was thinking of letting my keets and squirrel bunk together once in a while but I heard that flyers were omnivours and occassionally eat small bird or something like that
also, Is it true that flyers have detachable tails?:dono

No, you shouldn't keep them together. Even if they did not harm each other, the stress it would cause them would put their health in jeopardy. Flyers HAVE been known to eat baby birds and eggs. Flyers are very curious animals, and would tend to bother the parakeets at night. Please keep them separated.
Flyers do not have 'detachable' tails. If they are caught, or picked up by the tail, it may break off, and the flyer would probably live through it. But the tail would never grow back. In the wild, this enables the squirrel to live through an attact, but the loss of the tail means they must learn to compensate for the changes in their anatomy, as the flyers use their tails for balance and for warmth when they sleep.

And, for young flyers it might pose another health risk. There is some bacteria in the bird poop that could be deadly for a young flyer.

Thank you all for your replies. I will definantly make sure I don't put them in the same cage. I read on this one webpage that there tails will come off if they are in danger. I thought that it was outrageous when I read it.
