View Full Version : when do northern flyers mate

my wife and i live in canada ,northern ontario,and we were wondering when they mate and how many babies they could have.we feed these little guys all year long.sometimes we get up to eight at our feeders.we been feeding them sunflower seeds,peanuts,and sometimes pecans.we are new to the squrrel board and we love it.

Welcome Peter & Kim! I know the southern flying squirrel usually has 2-3 babies, but can have up to 6. Not sure about the northerns though. But check here: www.flyingsquirrels.com

:wave123 Welcome Peter and Kim, glad you joined. Lots of good information and stories. If the answers aren't here they will be able to tell you where to go to find them. Had a southern flying squirrel but don't know much about the northern ones, I don't think much difference except maybe size but check out the links Naturegirl provided, lots of good info.
