I was reading and for calcium and other minerals they said you can use the blocks like for birds. We bought the grape flavor and he loves it, but can too much be bad?

Usually they will just eat what their bodies need. (Which is not to say that now and then one won't make a little pig of himself!) And don't forget to make sure he has a source of Vit.D so that he can utilize the calcium.

Strider, I believe that "The flying squirrel: King and queen of the pet world" by Curt Howard is a must have book for anyone with Flying Squirrels. The book addresses many of the issues that you are concerned with now. Do a Google search for the title. It's a great little book.

I use L&M Farms vitamins in my flyer's drinking water, and have been very satisfied with it. For lots of good information on flying squirrels, go here:

http://www.nfsa.us/phpBB2/index.php?sid=487f6358aaec406b87225812d3c44f11

The people there are very nice and will be glad to answer any questions you have. Most of your questions will probably already be answered - just look through the index. NFSA (National Flying Squirrel Association) is dedicated to the health and well being of these adorable creatures, and many of the members have owned flyers for years. We are having our National NFSA Convention 2006 in Houston in June - maybe you could join us.

OK Strider we needs pictures of the flyers, I miss mine so much and all I get is the joy of looking at all of the ones on the board. Hard to be outside at dusk when they all come out and they are so fast can't enjoy them much. We use to give Chipper yogurt too, he really liked it, especially the oreo flavor.

That's a great idea!

Clifford and Daisy are getting a little bored with their 'all you can eat' buffet and I was trying to think of something else they might like. They both love blueberries, so blueberry yogurt it is!

Thanks Momma!

Ok, first you have to understand those two.

Daisy will eat anything I eat - she loved it!

Clifford ---- well just just say he's picky and let it go at that.
He made a face, shook his hands, and wiped his mouth on my arm!

That Clifford sounds like me, very picky eater. Chipper use to eat pretty much what ever Squerly ate, oreos, pizza and oh yeah some good stuff like fruit. Loved tea but that was only a treat, he was energetic enough without extra power :tilt
